Me And My Monkey

I don't do drugs. I am drugs.  -Salvador Dali
Destroy what destroys you.

PEOPLE WHO OD are idiots.  I think it's the Earth's way of cleansing waste product.  If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't be fucking with it.  I shot dope probably a hundred times when I was young and stupid and 'life's value was unseen and under-appreciated.  I remember being in some dope den in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans back in the Eighties, busting out alcohol pads and a 'Party Pack of U-100 Ultra Fine's and the couple idiots I was with, one of whom claimed the house belonged to his aunt 'and left vacant after she died.   Oyster Shell ground up and used for asphalt streets, overgrown and vacant lots next to fenced-in pink stucco shotgun homes, with expensive cars penned up in the front yard.   This was way before Katrina and looks completely civilized now.  Back then, only bad things happened back there.
THEY LOOKED at me like I was from another planet when insisting on using my own bottled water and sterilized everything.  I thought it was common sense when sticking needles in your arm:  Not these idiots and nearly every other dope fiend I ever seen.  Never shot more than one bag at a time when these fools were doing five at a time!  I could get loaded off the "Bone's" or residual left in the spoon....  I'm not kidding you.  I knew how easy it is to OD and you're just a 'Shot Away' from the other side or contracting a disease that kills you or makes you so sick and bright yellow for the rest of your life, you wished you were dead.   I really believe that people who die from overdose are either idiots or they wanted to turn the lights out for good.  Either way, when you choose to do these kinds of things, it Buyer beware....

New Orleans overdose deaths outpacing homicides, coroner says.

I WAS SCARED to tell you the truth about it.  Even going to that place with two other fiends I barely knew;  I didn't know If I was being escorted to my own starring role in a voodoo ceremony, which New Orleans is famous for. Anonymous nondescript house on a side street in the back of an abandoned house, I remember wondering if my family back in New York would ever hear what happened to me....   But being a tough guy I knew I could beat both of these fiends 'ass at the same time if I had too, and I just relied on my intuition and overgrown set of balls...
ALMOST DYING is a real eye-opener.

To be continued.
